Another Gaggle of Group Writing Projects

While Yvonne and I wrap up the SharedAnswers07 group writing project (a special thanks to those of you who participated or promoted the project on your blogs), I thought I’d point you to three more great group writing projects and contests hosted by some of my blogging friends.

Win A Free Blog Header/Logo Design

This contest is hosted by one of my favorite bloggers, Randa Clay of randa clay Design. Randa has helpful entries on blogging and design like this one on the move from blogging to a “portal.”
In this particular contest Randa is giving away:

1) One custom blog logo (along with a custom header).
2) One free blog review along with a feature article.

I have to confess, the prize that I want the most is #1. I happen to know that WritingThoughts probably needs an overhaul, but the last time I created a site (OpinionMom) it took me three days so I keep putting off a WritingThoughts overhaul.

Anyway, the deadline for Randa’s contest is August 24th, 2007, so you still have time to enter.

NotChinaMade.Net

The NotChinaMade.Net blog is dedicated to raising awareness of human rights violations in China. The site also promotes boycotting products made in communist China.
As if the cause weren’t worthy enough, right now they are running contest to raise awareness about the blog. One lucky winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to American Apparel. This post explains all the details.

Hurry! The deadline is Sunday, August 19th, 2007.

It’s Funny Now Group Writing Project

A Writer’s Word, An Editor’s Eye is hosting an interesting group writing project. The object of the project is to write about something that you can look back upon and laugh (even if it wasn’t funny at the time).

I hope that I can think of something to enter for this contest. Since I love a good laugh, I can’t wait to read these entries.

You have until September 4th, 2007, to come up with something that you can now laugh at.

  1. Thank you for sharing these contests. Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with your design. It is very neat and your readers are probably very used to it.

  2. Hi Carl! Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad that you like the design. I sort of feel like the margins are a bit too cluttered.

Maybe I should take a poll?

Anyway, thanks for your vote of confidence.

  3. Thanks for spreading the word on my group writing project, Laura. I’d hate to have a post later saying “it’s funny then, but it wasn’t funny when I gave a blog party and nobody came.” :-)

  4. Hi Lillie!

I intend to do a post for your project. I’m trying to think of something that would be funny for others as well as for me. (Sometimes my sense of humor is a little obscure …)
