SharedAnswers07 Group Writing Project

shared answers 2007 group writing project
You’ve seen the logo on my blog and on Yvonne’s blog at Grow Your Writing Business. You’ve wondered what it’s all about. Well, today is the day that we tell you.

When my blogging friend, Yvonne, and I discovered that we both wanted to host a group writing project we decided to do something different. We decided to host it together. For the past few weeks we’ve been busily working out the details on what should prove to be a very unique group writing project, SharedAnswers07.

Everyone has faced a challenge or problem, right? What would happen if we each chose a challenge or problem to share? What if we then shared how we approached that challenge or how we solved that problem? We could help each other by sharing! That’s how SharedAnswers07 was born.

SharedAnswers07 — The Rules

1. Post two unique posts:

  • The first post should describe a problem or challenge that you have faced.
  • The second post should describe how you solved that problem or approached the challenge.

2. Both the first and send post must link to this post and the post on Yvonne’s blog that describe the project. (Otherwise, we may never find your entry.)

3. Leave a comment on the post where you first read about the project.

4. All entries must have both a problem and a solution or a challenge and an approach.

5. All entries (problem and solution or challenge and approach) must be posted by midnight on August 15th.

UPDATED ON 08/08/07 TO ADD:

6. Maximum of one entry per blog.

The prize!!!

Did I mention that there is a prize! One lucky randomly drawn participant will receive a $30.00 Amazon gift certificate (to be delivered through e-mail).

What We’ll Do with Your Entry

Shortly after the project is over (once we’re sure that we’ve gotten all the results in) we’ll have a three-day wrap-up:

  • On day one Yvonne will post links to all the problems and challenges.
  • On day two I’ll post links to all the solutions and approaches.
  • On day three Yvonne and I will BOTH post links to both the problems, solutions, challenges, and approaches. PLUS, we’ll announce the randomly selected prize winner.

Free Bling!

Do you like the SharedAnswers07 logo? It’s yours for the taking if you decide to participate in this group writing project.

Spread the Word!

We’ve allowed an extra long deadline for this one (until August 15th) to allow as many people as possible to take part.

Whether or not you decide to write an entry (and we hope that you DO write an entry), be sure to spread the word. We’d like to get as many problems and answers or challenges and approaches as we can.

I can’t wait to see your entries!!

  1. Well, I can hardly wait to see the end of this project. It sounds like a very interesting initiative and a challenge for the writers. Facing problems and finding solutions is not so easy as it might seem.

  2. Yes Mihaela, it should be interesting!

  3. Sounds like a really great project, Laura & Yvonne. Let’s see…what can I write about?

  4. I’d love to see your entry, Mary Emma Allen!

  5. Just visited Yvonne’s blog and read about the project. Sounds very intriguing! I’ll definitely have to give it some thought–not to mention write a blog post about it as soon as I can find a few free moments.

Hope the project is very successful! (I know it will be very helpful to your readers!)

    Thanks!
    Jeanne

  6. Best wishes with the contest, Laura. I won’t have the time to participate, but you have something that seems both fun and unique, certain to garner a lot of attention.

  7. Thanks Jeanne! I look forward to seeing your entry.

Matt, I totally understand about the time crunch. I’ve been there, done that. If you get a few free moments between now an August 15th and decide to put one together, you’re welcome to change your mind.

  8. Very interesting…my cogs are turning.

  9. Hi Pickel! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  10. Laura,
I’ve posted part 1 and will post part 2 on Tuesday.

  11. Thanks Lillie! I liked your part 1.

  12. I just posted my problem with my dog and linked back to you! Thanks for a great project.

  13. Thanks HolisticGal! I’ve read your entry and it’s a good one! I love pets.
